# icupu

> icupu (https://www.icupu.com/) is a small collection of free web tools that run entirely in the browser. Its main tool is the icupu Percentage Calculator, a percentage calculator that understands questions typed in plain English, Portuguese or Spanish.

The icupu Percentage Calculator has a smart mode powered by percent-nlu, an open-source model (1,160,462 parameters, 1.2 MB (int8)) that maps a question such as "how much is an 18% tip on $64?" to one of six calculations (X% of Y, X is what % of Y, percentage increase, percentage decrease, add X%, subtract X%). It runs on the user's device in milliseconds; the arithmetic is plain code, so results are exact. Smart-mode questions are saved anonymously, with an opt-out, to improve the model. It also has six classic calculators with step-by-step working.
